kaTrina’s Pet Pawtraits

Our beloved Cooper crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this year. You captured his complete essence! My mom cried and sobbed and couldn’t stop looking at the portrait when I gave it to her! God Bless you!
— Scarlett T.
Hershey loves his picture, and so does his mom! Thank you!
— Cathy L.
Katrina, I got teary-eyed when I first saw my portrait. It’s amazing how you captured their personalities on canvas!
— Vicky P.
Katrina Rainey is a gifted artist - her work is AMAZING. I am so pleased with my pet portrait! She made my Rolo look like he’s in a 3D painting!
— Diane T.

How To Order Your Pastel Pet Pawtraits

REFERENCE PHOTO INFORMATION. This sets the tone for how detailed your portrait will turn out:

Photos must be taken in natural daylight (outside or by a window) to ensure the best light. They must not be too dark. They ideally should show the light reflection in the eyes. They must not be blurred or grainy. When you zoom in, you should be able to see individual strands of hair. I need to be able to see all the details of the fur, markings on the nose and reflections in the eyes.

The photo should be eye-level with your pet. If it is taken from too far away the image will be blurred when I zoom in. It should show a true representation of your pets fur color. Please make sure the sunlight isn’t too bright or it will distort the colors and will have a “glow” effect.

Please either text me your reference photos to 202-270-9158 or email them to me at katrinasart@yahoo.com. I do respond quicker to texts :)

Once we confirm the photo and size of the portrait I will reserve your spot and set a time for completion. A 50% deposit is due at this time. I offer 11x14 inch portraits which are currently $250 and come with a 16x20 inch, frame-ready mat which is included in the price of the portrait. I also offer a 18x24 inch size portrait for $550 and a 22x30 inch size portrait for $825 which does not come with a mat or frame. Payment options are Cashapp, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal. I use premium color pastels and a special pastel paper. There is an additional $50 charge for each extra pet. Custom backgrounds are an additional $50. My portraits come with a gradient color of your choice, or you can leave the color up to me. Once the project has been completed and you have paid the remaining balance, your drawing will be mailed to you. Shipping and handling is included in the price of the portrait. A typical portrait takes me 2 - 4 weeks depending on the complexity and workload. If you require the drawing by a certain date, please let me know so that I can allow for shipping time. Remember, the quality of the finished portrait is related to the quality of the photo submitted. Please email me for final pricing, special requests or questions.

Handling Your Portrait When You Receive It

I do not use any fixatives on my pastel portraits. It tends to dull the colors, so I choose not to use them. This means the portraits are HIGHLY smudgeable, so they need to be handled with care. Please do not remove the portrait from the plastic sleeve until you are ready to frame your portrait. Even then, please be extremely careful not to touch or allow anything to brush up against the pastel colors on the portrait. If you take your portrait to be professionally framed, please inform the framer that there is no fixative or sealant on the portrait and ask that the proceed with caution.
